Many Valorant players tend to focus on improving their aiming skills as much as possible, but many forget about how they move while doing so. Changing how you move your Agent in combat can create a lot of good habits to improve your overall skill, so here are some quick tips to help do so.
Counter-Strafing
U7BUY also has accounts for other FPS games. Look at the CSGO accounts here now! One of the most important strategies that a lot of professional Valorant players use is counter-strafing. Counter-strafing is a technique that affects your movement using a very simple trick. When moving using the WASD keys for example, when moving towards the left with the W key, quickly press the opposite direction (the D key in this example) to abruptly stop before aiming and shooting your target. This will make your aim more direct and quicker compared to your enemy.
Peeking
One of the best ways to put your counter-strafing skills to the test is by using it behind cover. This will improve your peeking and how well you can balance how long you are behind cover and shooting your target. Simply utilize your left and right keys by tapping the opposite key in the direction you’re headed to stop. Getting in the practice for this peeking trick will help exponentially in your matches.
Another important part of peeking is being able to find cover and know where each spot is on the map. This knowledge will come naturally with more experience, but you should use that information to your best advantage. Knowing where cover spots are located can not only help protect you but also predict where your enemies are hiding.
Stop Holding ‘W’
Obviously, you need your W key to move forward across the map, but you shouldn’t use it too much when entering an area. When just charging in, it’ll be easy for opponents and aim and shoot you down before you enter because you are solely moving in one direction. It also makes it easier for opponents to predict your direction and next move.
Instead of holding W when entering an area, try utilizing your left and right keys (A and D) too. This will not only make your direction more unpredictable to opponents but also increase your speed. Moving left or right actually makes your Agent move a lot faster. You can also check your surroundings at different angles for opponents better this way too.
Don’t Crouch!
A lot of beginner players mistake that crouching will make their hitboxes smaller and harder to aim for. However, this simply isn’t true. Crouching doesn’t reduce your hitbox and can instead actually make it easier for players to hit you due to your lack of speed when crouched. Instead of relying on crouching, work on dodging any attacks that might come your way and how well you find and use cover. It doesn’t take much time for someone to shoot you even while crouched.
