Facebook Revamps Help Center

Facebook recently redesigned its Help Center to better address user questions through a more user-friendly interface and, hopefully, increase transparency.

Here are a few of the major highlights:

  • The homepage of the Help Center now features six major topics that you can choose from to best find answers, including “See What’s New on Facebook” and “Learn the Privacy Basics.” The topics and information can also be personalized, depending on what you’re doing when you read the site. For instance, according to Facebook: “If you’re not logged into Facebook, you may see information about how to create an account or tips on resetting your Facebook password.”
  • A list of popular questions has also been highlighted, while some popular Facebook pages have also been highlighted for users to “like” to stay up to date on Facebook news. The design and navigation of the page has also been streamlined.
  • Facebook also announced that its Support Dashboard tool will now be available to users all over the world. The tool was previously not available to all international Facebook users. Here’s what the tool does: “Once you report content to us using the report links, you’ll be able to see the Support Dashboard in your ‘Account Settings.’  From your Support Dashboard you can see when we review your report, what action we took and why we took that action. We’ll also send you a notification when the status of your report changes.”

Our readers ask a lot of general Facebook questions, and we often refer them to the Help Center. We are pleased to see Facebook improving on this helpful resource! To read more about Facebook’s changes to its Help Center, click here.
